What is Evening Chic on Celebrity?
Evening Chic is Celebrity’s replacement for traditional formal night — a dressed-up evening that applies to a small number of nights on a typical sailing. In practice a jacket without a tie, a cocktail dress, or a smart jumpsuit is entirely sufficient. Tuxedos and long gowns appear but are a minority choice, and the buffet and casual venues are exempt.
Do I have to dress up every night?
No. Most evenings are smart casual: trousers and a collared shirt, or the equivalent. Jeans are widely accepted in the main restaurants on smart casual nights. Only the Evening Chic nights ask for more, and even then the standard is "smarter", not "formal".
What can’t I bring on a Celebrity cruise?
Typically prohibited: irons and steamers, candles, extension cords and power bars with surge protection, drones on many itineraries, and most alcohol beyond a small allowance of wine. Policies vary by ship and region and change, so check the current list for your sailing before you pack.
